Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support electrical and mechanical systems in a manufacturing setting. You will maintain, repair, and troubleshoot equipment, handle wiring, and coordinate with the Manufacturing Manager on projects and upkeep.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in manufacturing, strong knowledge of electronics, hydraulics, and CNC controls, and are fluent in English. This on-site role requires lifting up to 75 lb and adherence to EHS policies.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent with 2+ years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum education: High School Diploma; associate’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5+ years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must read and write fluently in English to understand manuals.
  • Knowledge of electronics, CNC controls, hydraulics.
  • Proficiency in electrical controls, fluid power, mechanical systems, welding, fabrication.
  • Able to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Able to bend, climb stairs, pull, push, reach.
  • Strong verbal communication and multitasking.
  • Team player with ability to work with contractors.
  • U.S. applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with maintenance and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, and facilities.
  • Install, repair, and maintain machines, hydraulic equipment, CNC controls, and electrical components.
  • Perform electrical wiring work and mechanical repairs on equipment and systems.
  • Order maintenance components, supplies, and parts as needed.
  • Assist with collection and control of hazardous materials.
  • Respond to maintenance requests from Manufacturing Manager and departments.
  • Install power supply wiring and conduit on newly installed equipment.
  • Replace light fixtures, lamps, receptacles, switches, and ballasts.
  • Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit using tools.
  • Transport tools, materials, equipment, and supplies to work sites.
  • Move and organize materials.
  • Drill holes and pull or push wiring through openings.
  • Complete accurate and timely paperwork.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Perform machine systems troubleshooting and repair.
  • Provide technical support for all phases of operations.
  • Comply with EHS policies, use PPE, report incidents.

Job description

  • Perform electrical wiring work and mechanical repairs on equipment and systems
  • Order maintenance components, supplies, and parts as needed
  • Assist with collection and control of hazardous materials
  • Respond to maintenance instructions and requests from the Manufacturing Manager and departments
  • Install power supply wiring and conduit on newly installed equipment
  • Replace light fixtures, lamps, receptacles, switches, and ballasts
  • Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit using measuring instruments and hand tools
  • Transport tools, materials, equipment, and supplies to work sites
  • Move and organize materials
  • Drill holes and pull or push wiring through openings using hand and power tools
  • Complete accurate and timely paperwork
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Perform medium-to-high-level machine systems troubleshooting and repair
  • Provide technical support for all phases of operations
  • Comply with EHS policies, use PPE, and report accidents, incidents, near misses, and dangerous situations
Requirements
  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and 2+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, required
  • Minimum education required: High School Diploma; associate’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 5+ years in a manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to read and write fluently in English to communicate and understand technical/training manuals written in English
  • Knowledge of industrial electronics, electrical diagrams, CNC controls, and hydraulics
  • Proficiency in electrical controls, fluid power, mechanical systems, welding, fabrication, and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to bend, climb stairs, pull, push, and reach
  • Effective verbal communication and multitasking skills
  • Ability to function effectively in a team environment and interact productively with team personnel and outside contractors
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Ability to operate a forklift, genie lift, or scissor lift preferred
  • PC skills, problem solving, organizational skills, adaptability/flexibility, initiative, teamwork, communication, decision making, and ability to learn and understand
  • U.S. applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
