- Repair, install, and troubleshoot electrical, electronic, and control systems in a pharmaceutical/biomedical environment
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on industry-standard and specialized equipment
- Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (C.M.M.S.) to report and record equipment-related actions
- Assess equipment trouble calls and determine required corrective actions
- Communicate equipment status and maintenance completion time frames to relevant parties
- Perform scheduled and unplanned work on electro-mechanical controls used in manufacturing
- Support and participate in new engineering projects, applications, and implementations
- Correct or report equipment malfunctions and unsafe operational practices
- Maintain equipment condition to original OEM specifications
- Work independently or as a team member on short- and long-term projects
- Ensure equipment and environments are safe according to local and state codes and governing policies
- Train junior-level technicians
Requirements
- High School Diploma required
- Vocational Training Certificate in a related field highly desired
- Minimum 5–7 years of combined experience/education working with electrical/mechanical systems in high-volume manufacturing or a related field
- Hands‑on experience installing, repairing, and troubleshooting electrical/mechanical systems on fully and semi‑automated equipment
- Experience with machine automation, including robotics, PLCs, drives, motor controls, sensing components, and vision systems
- Ability to communicate via laptop with machine control programs, PLCs, VFDs, and panel views
- Experience with RSLogix 5000, RS-232, Ethernet, DeviceNet, and Siemens 7
- Ability to troubleshoot using electrical drawings and ladder diagrams
- Ability to troubleshoot low‑voltage control instrumentation and components, including proportional valves, linear encoders, temperature sensors, and servo controls
- Ability to troubleshoot, test, and interpret electrical prints/drawings on low- and high-voltage AC/DC circuits
- Strong knowledge of electrical theory, principles, applications, and local/national electrical codes
- Proficiency using voltage/process analyzers, meters, power tools, and shop equipment
- Ability to train junior-level technicians
- Ability to run conduit, size and pull wire according to N.E.M.A. code
- Ability to rewire, perform power distribution, run new electrical systems, install electrical equipment, and perform electrical work according to the National Electrical Code
- Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
- Ability to work around biological fluids, infectious organisms, chemicals, electrical equipment, moving machinery, noise, dust, gas, fumes, steam, extreme temperatures, vibration, confined spaces, heights, and uneven ground
- Ability to use required personal protective equipment
- Ability to lift and carry 45 pounds for 6–8 hours per day, with a maximum lift of 75 pounds
- Adequate vision, hearing, color perception, depth perception, and hand coordination for the role
- Ability to adhere to a work schedule meeting production standards
- Directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and/or competencies may substitute for stated requirements, depending on assignment
