Transdev in Columbia, SC is seeking a Technician III to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment. The candidate will ensure safety, efficiency, and longevity of our fleet.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct diagnostic tests to identify issues and determine necessary repairs on diesel engines.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize performance.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and accurate repairs.
- Complete preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.
- Lead diagnostic tests to accurately identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies for diesel engines.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on diesel engines, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, assisting them in developing their skills and knowledge.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications
- ASE certifications required (program provided).
- Proficiency in the use of a mechanic’s tool set.
- Ability to work shifts or flexible schedules as needed.
- Subject to DOT drug testing and physical, as applicable.

Physical Requirements
- Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions; 100% of the job is performed outside, including remote locations.
- Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk long distances and on uneven surfaces.
- Push and pull objects throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch.
- Tolerate heavy traffic areas; exposure to dust, vehicle fumes, and noise.
