Job summary

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center is seeking a Technician II to perform skilled mechanical or analytical duties on various projects under general supervision. The role may supervise subordinate employees and requires adherence to TTUHSC procurement and documentation processes.

The position is based in Abilene, with up to 25% travel, and pays hourly from $18.00 to $21.00 depending on qualifications and experience. This is a full-time role within the Abilene Robertson Unit.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma / GED and three years' work experience. Additional job-related education may substitute for required experience on a year for year basis.

Responsibilities

  • Meet procurement and documentation policies as set forth by TTUHSC, Managed Health Care.
  • Maintain accurate records of supplies requested, procured, reconciled invoices, and distributed as deemed appropriate by supervisor(s).
  • Acquire and/or purchase medical materials considering best price, quality, availability, and reliability.
  • Maintain adequate supply of stock items to ensure availability at all times, including documenting, ordering, receiving, stocking, and distributing supplies/equipment.
  • Assist in daily courier service between HealthCare System sites and vendors as necessary.
  • Research and check resources to obtain best pricing, availability and reliability; assist in equipment inventory monitoring.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Responsible to meet all procurement and documentation policyand procedures as set forth by TTUHSC, Managed Health Care.
  • Maintains accurate records of supplies requested, procured aswell as reconciled invoices, and distributed as deemed appropriateby supervisor(s).
  • Responsible for acquisition and / or purchasing of medicalmaterials while considering best price, quality, availability andreliability when purchasing products. Billing, and/or servicedocumentation and questions to be forwarded to the accountingdepartment or supervisor as appropriate.
  • Maintains adequate supply of stock items to ensure availabilityat all times including its employees and all of its activities;documenting, ordering, receiving, checking, stocking, anddistributing supplies and equipment in an accurate and timelyfashion.
  • Aids in provision of a daily courier service between HealthCare System sites and vendors as necessary.
  • Research and check resources to obtain best pricing,availability and reliability of products. Assist in equipmentinventory monitoring and reconciliation as required by ACAStandards, TTUHSC Policy and/or supervisor.
  • Develops and implements policies for general supply request andspecial orders.
  • Other duties as assigned.
