Carpenter Technology Corporation is seeking an entry-level Technican I for the Metallurgical Laboratory. You will prepare samples, conduct basic metallurgical testing, and support material evaluations under leadership.

Work in a fast-paced lab supporting Mechanical Testing, Sample Preparation, Metallographic Testing, Magnetic Testing, or Heat Treating operations. You will prepare, test, and document data, operate lab equipment safely, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives while

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to work in a production-oriented environment with attention to detail.
  • Basic math, computer, and recordkeeping skills.
  • Ability to follow written procedures and instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare samples for metallurgical analysis.
  • Perform mechanical testing (hardness, tensile, etc.).
  • Conduct metallographic evaluations using polishing equipment, etchants, mounting techniques.
  • Collect, record, and maintain accurate test data.
  • Operate lab equipment following procedures and safety rules.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives; assist in evaluating materials.
