Position Summary

What you'll do

As a General Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will perform routine maintenance to ensure the safety, functionality, and appearance of Walmart stores. You will work under the supervision of the local General Maintenance Manager, following maintenance schedules, conducting inspections, cleaning, and repairs.

Position Requirements

• 18 years or older
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb ladders and work at heights
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods
• Work in various temperatures
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record
• Vocational or technical certification and 1 year experience, or 2 years total work experience in trades like plumbing, electrical, or related

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair facilities and equipment using multiple craft skills
• Use work order systems to support store repairs and document activities
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls
• Inspect and test facilities to diagnose issues
• Complete safety training for equipment and tools

Minimum Qualifications

Vocational or technical certification and 3 years' experience in trades like plumbing or electrical, or 5 years' experience in related trades. Valid driver’s license and eligibility for CDL preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

Completion of a 2-year vocational or technical trade program, trade license, and proficiency with office software.
