Job summary

Prince Telecom, LLC in Garner, NC is seeking a Fiber Installation Technician to install and service fiber optic networks, wiring, and equipment on customer premises. You will troubleshoot issues, review services with customers, and educate users on product and service usage.

The role is field-based, hourly, and requires willingness to travel and work in varied weather. A valid driver’s license and a high school diploma or GED are required, along with routine overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Authorized to work in the United States for this company.
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.
• Valid State driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Install, disconnect, reconnect, add, change, and troubleshoot fiber optic internet and telephone services according to guidelines.
• Install, setup and configure all equipment.
• Identify and remedy sources of customer-perceived issues.
• Review services with the customer to ensure understanding and agreement.
• Educate customers on product and service usage.
• Maintain vehicle and equipment; stock as needed.
• Work overtime, travel, and perform on-call/after-hours duties as required.

What you’ll do

• Install, disconnect, reconnect, add, change, and troubleshoot fiber optic internet, and telephone based on guidelines
• Install, setup and configure all equipment
• Identify and try to remedy sources of customer-perceived issues
• Review all requested services with the customer in order to ensure understanding and agreement
• Educate the customer regarding product and service usage
• Clean, maintain, and stock vehicle and equipment
• Work overtime, travel, and perform on-call/afterhours responsibilities as needed
• Perform work in all weather conditions
• Other duties as assigned

What you’ll need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid State driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record

Physical abilities & exposures

• Routinely: work at heights, occasional entry into attics and crawl spaces and alone in remote locations, operate vehicle and heavy machinery; squeeze, fine hand motion, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs, and lift up to 55 pounds without assistance.
• Occasionally: use ladder, keyboard and mouse
