- Hourly Pay: $31.81 per hour
- Certification Bonus of $100 for each new ASE Certification obtained, up to $700
- Quarterly Bonus: Ryder pays up to $500 every quarter (four times per year)
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, weekends off
- Hours: Second shift, 12:30 pm – 9:00 pm

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Vocational or technical certification, post-secondary degree, or technical certifications preferred
- Basic tools required
- Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including:
- Routine preventive maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)
- Basic diagnostics and repairs (AC and electrical systems)
- Three or more years of relevant work experience preferred
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
- Other certifications as required by location
- Minimum 2 years’ experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy- and medium-duty equipment
- Knowledge of computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
- Driving requirement: Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months, pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background checks, including drug and alcohol verification for the last 3 years.

Responsibilities
- Perform vehicle maintenance and repairs, including:
- Standard vehicle maintenance and preventive maintenance
- Diagnose complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers
- Complete detailed inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
- Replace defective components as instructed
- Work independently on most tasks
- Perform facility maintenance duties
- Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints
- Utilize shop management systems and electronic documentation
- Comply with safety, DOT, and corporate guidelines
- Mentor Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels
- Access and use internal and external maintenance documents
- Support operations as needed, including service island support
- Complete SBTIII training within 180 days
- Complete 2 OEM online diagnostic courses as required by location
