SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Technician will diagnose and repair engine, transmission, brake, suspension, electrical, hydraulic, body components, and systems related to heavy and light-duty trucks. This includes gasoline, diesel, and CNG systems, with potential welding and fabrication responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Report to the Maintenance Supervisor and perform diagnostics on a fleet of refuse and recycling vehicles.
2. Maintain and repair Mack, IHC, Autocar, Heil, McNeilus vehicles and equipment.
3. Support coworkers in safe and efficient maintenance and repair activities.
4. Complete paperwork accurately and promptly.
5. Follow safety policies and maintain a clean, OSHA-compliant work area.
6. Use vehicle electronic systems to interpret failure modes and initiate or assign repairs.
7. Conduct safety checks and repairs using Factory Service Manuals.
8. Uphold high standards of ethics and dependability.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proficiency in drivetrain, engine, and transmission inspections, diagnosis, and repair.
• Ability to assess structural damage and guide repairs.
• Assist and guide shop technicians.
• CDL Class B preferred or ability to obtain one.
• Obtain 7 ASE Certifications or equivalent within 36 months.
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience with medium-duty class 8 vehicles, preferably in waste/recycling industry.
• Understanding of OSHA safety standards and computer data tracking skills.

No CDL required.

OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Participate in training courses as assigned.
• Stay updated on current technology used by Waste Pro.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
