Position Description

Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Experienced Mid-Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Burnsville, Minnesota.

  • Hourly Pay: $30.58 per hour
  • Certification Bonus of $100 for each new ASE Certification obtained, up to $700
  • Quarterly Bonus: Ryder pays up to $500 every quarter
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, weekends off
  • Hours: Second shift 12:00 pm – 8:30 pm

Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or technical certification preferred
  • Basic tools required
  • Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine maintenance
  • Two or more years of related experience or training preferred
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred

This position requires you to drive Ryder vehicles. To become a Ryder employee, you must:

  • Obtain CDL within 6 months of hire
  • Pass Ryder drug test
  • Pass DOT physical
  • Pass Ryder road test
  • Pass background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification for the past 3 years

Responsibilities
  • Perform vehicle maintenance and repairs
  • Conduct standard vehicle and component inspections
  • Perform preventive maintenance
  • Diagnose mechanical and electronic issues using diagnostic tools
  • Identify root causes and perform repairs
  • Replace defective components
  • Support facility maintenance duties
  • Interact with customers/drivers to determine issues
  • Use shop management systems and documentation
  • Follow safety and compliance guidelines
  • Support operational tasks as needed, including Service Island support
