Diesel Mechanic / Technician I - (251546)

Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Diagnose malfunctions and perform vehicle repairs, including adjustments and testing of steering, electrical, cooling, lubrication, braking, drive trains, suspensions, power steering, clutches, transmissions, engine rebuilds, and related tasks, in accordance with all relevant federal, state/provincial, and local guidelines. Test drive vehicles post-repair to ensure issues are resolved.
  2. Arrange for and obtain inspections and approval of major repairs before releasing vehicles from the maintenance facility.
  3. Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient work environment, complying with all relevant guidelines and requirements.
  4. Identify and report additional maintenance or repairs needed during assigned tasks, including those requiring higher qualification levels.
  5. Accurately record time, parts used, and repairs conducted.
  6. Perform road calls and on-the-road repairs as assigned.
  7. Report unsafe conditions or vehicle abuse to the Lead Technician.
  8. Uphold high ethical standards and personal integrity; report any suspicious or inappropriate behavior to supervisors.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Compensation: Up to $31.00 per hour

Minimum Qualifications:
  • At least five years of medium/heavy truck fleet mechanic repair experience.
  • Proficiency in diagnostics, electrical systems, and AC repair.
  • Technical knowledge of major vehicle systems and diesel equipment.
  • Experience with fleet maintenance and familiarity with diesel and gasoline systems.
  • Possess the recommended minimum hand tools for a Diesel Technician.
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Valid applicable state license; CDL preferred. The company offers free training for mechanics.
