Job Summary:

This position is responsible for repairing construction machines, component assemblies, and parts in the shop and field. Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, ordering parts, writing technical reports, warranty reporting, maintaining company assets, and effective communication with team members.

Responsibilities:
  1. Repair equipment and components, including:
  • Developing repair plans and sequences
  • Determining necessary parts, materials, tooling, etc.
  • Performing repairs safely and correctly, with quality assurance testing of components, systems, and machines
  • Complete reports accurately and promptly for parts ordering, tooling, daily service, and work completion
  • Communicate repair progress to supervisors as required
  • Manage parts and materials through the company's parts ordering system
  • Handle special tools via the company’s Tool Room, ensuring proper care and use of shop equipment
  • Use company vehicle, service truck, and fuel cards appropriately
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area and service vehicle
  • Keep tools and equipment in safe, efficient condition
  • Follow all company policies and safety guidelines
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the manager
Education, Experience, Skills:

High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required. An Associate Degree in Diesel or Equipment Technology or four years of apprenticeship experience is preferred. Technician classification depends on experience, knowledge, and competence.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and use hands for handling and feeling. Also, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, lift, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.

Work Environment:

Frequent exposure to wet/humid conditions and moving mechanical parts; occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, weather extremes, and vibration. Noise level is moderate to loud.
