Job summary

Ohio CAT is offering an eight-month Technician Development Academy Intern Trainee program in Heavy Equipment. You’ll rotate between training facilities in Cleveland or Columbus and your home shop, completing about 640 hours of hands-on instruction while learning safety, rigging, powertrain, and preventive maintenance.

To qualify, you should have a high school diploma or equivalent, mechanical aptitude, and strong communication skills.

Program Highlights:

  • $25.00 per hour, paid training program

  • Receive a tool set/or voucher upon training completion.

Physical Requirements:


  • Lifting/Carrying 40 lb. Lift/Carry and 50lb pulling

  • Standing/Sitting Up and down stairs, standing, sitting, and climbing into machines

  • Dexterity Normal

  • Repetitive Motions: Frequent movements requiring the use of hands, wrists, and fingers.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
