Job summary

Musco Lighting, based in Iowa, is seeking a Technician Associate in the Services Team. The role provides hands-on training in Musco’s systems, services, and field operations, with extensive travel across the U.S. and abroad.

Expect to operate equipment, perform field service tasks, and contribute to project plans under the Logistics Supervisor’s guidance. You’ll learn all aspects of Musco products, perform maintenance and repairs, and document field activities.

Qualifications

  • Excellent technical and problem solving ability.
  • Basic electrical and mechanical aptitude is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and telephone communication skills.
  • Strong personal initiative and ability to work with little supervision.
  • Basic computer, email, and internet skills for receiving work instructions and job reporting.
  • Ability to learn internal communication system.
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check.

Responsibilities

  • Drive and operate different types of equipment at lighting projects, including forklifts, aerial man lifts, ATFs, generators, non-CDL vehicles and rental cars.
  • Perform field service work in aerial lifts, climbing poles, or catwalk access locations at heights.
  • Learn all aspects of Musco products and services to support future service roles.
  • Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and inspection of equipment and products.
  • Coordinate time frames for projects with customers, vendors, equipment and people resources for assigned projects.
  • Maintain consistent communication with Field Logistics Supervisor regarding daily duties and schedules.
  • Provide detailed written field reports and complete paperwork within one week of project or assignment.
  • Work on Musco projects with temporary lighting, warranty work on metal halide, LED or control-link products.
  • Make solid daily expense related decisions.

Job is based out of Iowa, but extensive travel (220-240 days per year) is required throughout the U.S. and, at times, abroad. Some working days in Oskaloosa will be required.

  • Drive and operate different types of equipment at lighting projects, including, but not limited to fork lifts, aerial man lifts, all terrain forklifts, generators, non-CDL vehicles and rental cars
  • Perform field service work, which will require working in aerial lifts, climbing poles, or in catwalk access locations at heights
  • Learn all different aspects of Musco products and services provided to lend toward future services roles
  • Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and inspection of equipment and products
  • Coordinate time frames for projects with customers, vendors, equipment and people resources for assigned projects
  • Maintain consistent communication with Field Logistics Supervisor regarding daily work duties and schedules
  • Provide detailed written field reports and completion of required paperwork within one week of project or assignment of paperwork
  • Work on crews on individually at Musco projects that could include, temporary lighting, warranty related efforts of Musco’s metal halide, LED or control-link products
  • Make solid daily expense related decisions
