Job summary

Musco is seeking a Project Manager in Oskaloosa, IA, to lead internal and external communications after POs, coordinate site visits, and develop scope of work for lighting projects. The role requires travel, strong technical aptitude, and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.

The ideal candidate will interpret drawings, understand construction processes, and coordinate delivery, installation, commissioning, and training to ensure successful project close-out.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field preferred.
• Willingness to travel globally.
• Ability to interpret and understand project specifications, construction, and electrical drawings.
• Knowledge of construction processes and practices.
• Strong technical and mechanical aptitude.
• Proficient with Word and Excel; basic AutoCAD skills preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Work well under pressure; adaptable to change.
• Willingness to travel 130-150 days/year, including 60–70% overnight travel.
• Energetic, team-oriented and professional in demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Lead point of contact for internal and external communications after Purchase Order is received.
• Assist the sales representative with pre-sale site visits as needed.
• Develop Musco’s scope of work.
• Create and evaluate RFQs for subcontractors.
• Coordinate delivery, storage, and installation of Musco projects.
• Process Change Orders and communicate to the Musco Team.
• Commission lighting systems to verify installation and operation.
• Provide customer training on operation of lighting system controls.
• Ensure final inspections are completed and provide project close-out reports.
• Approve payment of invoices and notify Credit department for final billing.
• Provide technical support during installation and commissioning of lighting systems.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Must be willing to travel globally.

• Computer oriented; Word and Excel necessary; basic AutoCAD skills are beneficial.

• Must be willing to travel weekly to remote project locations; with overnight stays 2-4 nights/week on average. 130-150 travel days a year should be planned, but subject to change as demand requires.
