Bane-Welker Equipment is seeking a Technician Apprentice to assist with repair and maintenance work on agricultural equipment in the service department. You will work under the Service Manager with potential for independent tasks and must have mechanical knowledge including hydraulic, electrical, and diagnostic skills.

The role emphasizes completing jobs efficiently, staying up to date on product knowledge, and maintaining safety and quality standards. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Must be willing to pursue further training/education beyond high school.

• Demonstrate organizational ability and systematic timing.
• Proven knowledge of methods, materials, and tools used in repair of agricultural equipment.
• Adequate knowledge of work processes and requirements for physical labor, shop equipment, and safety procedures.
• Familiar with the dealer’s line of equipment.
• Ability to demonstrate the guiding principles of Bane-Welker Equipment.
• Ability to maintain customer relationships and cultivate new customers for future growth.
• Mechanical ability and familiarity with testing equipment and diagnostic procedures.
• Experience operating vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Participate in schooling and recommended training; stay up to date on service knowledge and product changes.
• Perform setup or pre-delivery inspections on new or used equipment as prescribed by manuals.
• Complete assigned jobs efficiently while communicating with mentoring technicians and service management.
• Process all work or school-related paperwork in a timely, accurate manner.
• Perform equipment repair and maintenance work according to time schedules set by the service manager.
• Seek feedback from service manager and technicians to improve efficiency.
• Assist other technicians with current tasks when required.
• Follow safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance protocols and policies.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Provide and/or maintain tools required to complete assigned work.
• Professionally maintain and clean equipment as agreed.

The Service Department is an integral piece to the success of the business and customer experience at Bane-Welker. A Technician Apprentice is responsible for assisting with repair and maintenance work on equipment, in a timely manner, as assigned by the Service Manager with the potential for independent assignments. An apprentice must have mechanical knowledge including hydraulic, electrical, and diagnostic skills.

• Participate in schooling, recommended training, and take initiative to stay up to date on relevant service knowledge, bulletins, and other changes regarding new and existing products.
• Performs set up or pre-delivery inspections on new or used equipment as prescribed by manufacturer’s manual.
• Successfully complete assigned jobs efficiently while communicating with mentoring technicians and service management.
• Complete and process all work or school related paperwork for each assignment in a timely, consistent, and accurate manner.
• Performs equipment repair and maintenance work, according to time schedules assigned by service manager.
• Seek feedback from the service manager and technicians to improve efficiency and productivity.
• Assist other technicians with current tasks when required or requested.
• Follow all safety, environmental and regulatory compliance protocols, policies, and requirements.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
