Job summary

Bane-Welker Equipment is seeking a Technician Apprentice to assist with repair and maintenance of agricultural equipment. You will work under the Service Manager, with opportunities for independent assignments as you gain knowledge in hydraulic, electrical, and diagnostic systems.

You will participate in training, complete paperwork timely, and communicate progress with mentoring technicians. A valid driver’s license is required to support field tasks.

Qualifications

• Must be willing to pursue further training/education beyond high school.
• Customer-focused and “be of service” attitude.
• Demonstrate organizational ability and systematic timing.
• Proven knowledge of methods, materials, and tools used in the repair of agricultural equipment.
• Familiar with the dealer’s line of equipment.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Participate in schooling and recommended training; stay up to date on service knowledge and bulletins.
• Performs setup or pre-delivery inspections on equipment as prescribed by manual.
• Complete assigned jobs efficiently while communicating with mentoring technicians and service management.
• Complete and process all work or school-related paperwork.
• Perform repair and maintenance work according to schedules set by the service manager.
• Seek feedback from the service manager and technicians to improve efficiency.
• Assist other technicians with current tasks as required.
• Follow safety, environmental and regulatory compliance protocols and keep work area clean.
• Provide and/or maintain the tools required to complete assigned work.
• Professionally maintain and clean equipment as agreed.

Job description

The Service Department is an integral piece to the success of the business and customer experience at Bane-Welker. A Technician Apprentice is responsible for assisting with repair and maintenance work on equipment, in a timely manner, as assigned by the Service Manager with the potential for independent assignments. An apprentice must have mechanical knowledge including hydraulic, electrical, and diagnostic skills.

• Participate in schooling, recommended training, and take initiative to stay up to date on relevant service knowledge, bulletins, and other changes regarding new and existing products.
• Performs set up or pre-delivery inspections on new or used equipment as prescribed by manufacturer’s manual.
• Successfully complete assigned jobs efficiently while communicating with mentoring technicians and service management.
• Complete and process all work or school related paperwork for each assignment in a timely, consistent, and accurate manner.
• Performs equipment repair and maintenance work, according to time schedules assigned by service manager.
• Seek feedback from the service manager and technicians to improve efficiency and productivity.
• Assist other technicians with current tasks when required or requested.
• Follow all safety, environmental and regulatory compliance protocols, policies, and requirements.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Provide and/or maintain the tools required to efficiently complete assigned work.
• Professionally maintain and clean equipment as agreed upon.

Requirements of Position:

• Possess adequate knowledge of work processes and requirements for both physical labor, shop equipment, and safety procedures.
• Must be familiar with the dealer’s line of equipment.
• Ability to demonstrate the guiding principles of Bane-Welker Equipment.
• Ability to maintain customer relationships and cultivate new customers for future growth.
• Possess mechanical ability and familiarization with testing equipment and diagnostic procedures.
• Be experienced in operating vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
