Job summary

Aggreko is seeking a Power or HVAC Technician 1 in Lake Charles, LA. The role involves preventive maintenance and repairs on power generators, diesel engines, HVAC equipment, and oil-free air compressors at shop or field locations.

You will travel locally in a company vehicle and may work overtime, weekends, or travel as needed. You should have a High School diploma/GED and 2–5 years of experience with generators or HVAC equipment, with the ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment and oil free air compressors.
• Work in the field with local travel daily in the company vehicle; overtime and weekends possible; potential travel.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures at shop and customer sites; perform repairs as needed.
• Operate or set up equipment at shop and on customer sites, alone or with another technician.

Bring your energy to Aggreko as a Power or HVAC Technician 1 based in Lake Charles (Sulphur), LA . You’ll perform preventive maintenance and repairs of power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment and/or oil free air compressors at the shop or in the field.

What you’ll do:

• Expect to work in the field with local travel daily in your company vehicle
• You’ll have an opportunity to work overtime and weekends, and there is a potential for travel
• Troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop and on customer locations, and handle the repairs
• You will either be out on your own or teamed up with another technician(s) to set up and operate equipment at the shop and on customer sites

You are:

• Able to provide a High School diploma/GED or equivalent work experience
• Proven to have 2-5 years of experience working on power generators and/or commercial HVAC equipment, performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs
• Based on the customer requirements, you may be required to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to move or lift objects, typically less than 75 lbs.

• Must be able to move the extremities and spine through a functional range of motion that willpermitwork to be safely performed from ground / floor level tofull overhead level
• Must have good finger dexterity to manipulate small items,functional hand-eye coordination, andfunctionally grip with adequate strength to safelyhold tools and stair railing or ladders
• Must be able to safely meet the physical demands outlined in the Essential Physical Capacities Assessment and pass the post-offer physical abilities assessment, which includes being able to lift (60 lbs), push/pull (80 lbs), carry (60 lbs), climb stairs and ladders as well as a combination of climbing while carrying objects (15 lbs), stoop, kneel and squat
