Job summary

Aggreko plc is seeking a Technician 1- Diesel Engine Repair (Shop) in New Iberia to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on power generators, diesel engines, HVAC, and related equipment. You’ll work either independently or with a team, based at our New Iberia - National Power service center, with opportunities for overtime and weekend work.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years of experience with generators or commercial HVAC, the ability to read schematics, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining and repairing power generators and HVAC equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and electrical diagrams.
• Must have or be able to obtain TWIC or DOT medical card as required.
• Physically able to lift up to 60 lbs and move equipment as needed.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on generators, diesel engines, electrical equipment, HVAC, and oil-free air compressors.
• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot equipment at the shop or on location.
• Off-load equipment using overhead cranes and assist with setup.
• Work overtime and weekends as needed.

What you'll do:

• You'll be based out of our New Iberia -National Power service center and have an opportunity to work overtime and weekends
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment and/or oil free air compressors
• Set up, operate and troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop and handle the repairs
• Change oil and fuel filters and properly dispose of the old filters.
• Off-load equipment from trucks upon termination of rentals with use of overhead cranes
• You will either be out on your own or teamed up with other technician(s) to set up and operate equipment at the shop

You are:

• High School diploma/GED
• 2-5 years of experience working on power generators and/or commercial HVAC equipment, performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs
• Experience with calculating nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements, along with reading and knowing schematics
• Based on the customer requirements, you may be required to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card
• Ability to move or lift objects, typically less than 50 lbs.
• Valid driver's license

• Availability to work the assignedschedule, travel to work locations (if needed) and be onstandbyfor work outside of regularly scheduledshifts
• Must be able to stand,walkand sit for prolonged periods of time; and be able to walk over uneven terrainwith functional balance that does not require any special assistive devices
• Must be able to move the extremities and spine through a functional range of motion that willpermitwork to be safely performed from ground / floor level tofull overhead level
• Must have good finger dexterity to manipulate small items,functional hand-eye coordination, andfunctionally grip with adequate strength to safelyhold tools and stair railing or ladders
• Must be able to safely meet the physical demands outlined in the Essential Physical Capacities Assessment and pass the post-offer physical abilities assessment, which includes being able to lift (60 lbs), push/pull (80 lbs), carry (60 lbs), climb stairs and ladders as well as a combination of climbing while carrying objects (15 lbs), stoop, kneel and squat
