Job summary

GHL Doors and Locks is seeking a full-time Technician to install, repair, and maintain doors, locks and automatic door systems at customer facilities in the Northeast, NY region. You will diagnose issues, perform rekeys and lockout services, and ensure safety and security standards while traveling between sites.

You will interact with customers on-site, provide clear updates, and complete service documentation.

Qualifications

• Hands-on skills in door installation, repair, and maintenance, including locks, hinges, and related hardware.
• Experience with facility rekeying, lockout services, and master key systems.
• Knowledge of automatic door systems, basic electrical or mechanical troubleshooting, and safety procedures.
• Ability to perform window and glass replacement, including measuring, fitting, and securing materials.
• Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain work clearly on-site.
• Solid problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Comfort working in a field environment, including lifting, climbing, and using hand and power tools safely.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel to customer locations.
• Prior experience in locksmithing, carpentry, building maintenance, or a related trade is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical training or certifications are a plus.
