Job summary

ServiceNow is seeking a Technical Writing Intern for a 12-week summer program in multiple locations including Santa Clara, San Diego, and West Palm Beach. You will create product documentation, learn DITA/XML authoring, and collaborate with multiple development teams in an Agile environment.

Applicants should be pursuing a Bachelor’s in Liberal Arts, Communications, or related fields, graduating May 2029 or later, and provide a writing sample showing research and critical thinking.

Qualifications

• Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving.
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in Liberal Arts, Communications, Technical Communications, or related field
• Graduating May 2029, or later
• Able to work full time for 12-weeks during the summer
• Solid writing sample demonstrating research, analysis, and critical thinking
• Understanding of content development lifecycles and processes
• Ability to learn highly technical products quickly using pre-release software and internal docs
• Knowledge of markup languages such as DITA, HTML, XML, or SGML
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

Responsibilities

• Creating product documentation for end users and system administrators
• Learning to author in environments, primarily DITA/XML
• Researching, writing, and ensuring accuracy of content for current and future releases
• Working closely with multiple development teams in an Agile environment
• Peer reviews of documentation
• Collaborating with information developers to produce content for blogs, product docs, knowledge base, and video
