Job summary

Everforth ECS is seeking a Technical Writer to join our Fairfax, Virginia office in a hybrid onsite/remote capacity. You will collaborate with SMEs, program managers, and Security teams to simplify dense regulatory and technical concepts into clear, plain-language materials.

Responsibilities include creating SOPs and manuals, researching with SMEs, and ensuring compliance with federal guidelines. Salary is commensurate with skill, experience, and education, with a range of $80,000–$110,000.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Active DoD Secret security clearance required.
• High School Diploma with 9+ years of relevant experience, or Bachelor’s with 5+ years.
• Active DoD 8140 IAT Level II Security+ (or higher).
• Strong writing, editing, and command of major style guides (GPO, APA, Chicago).
• Ability to interpret and cite U.S. Code and federal regulations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and desktop publishing tools.

Responsibilities

• Create, edit, and format SOPs, user manuals, policy handbooks, and executive correspondence.
• Research SME concepts and verify accuracy through interviews.
• Ensure deliverables comply with federal guidelines and accessibility mandates.
• Translate technical or legal jargon into accessible materials for diverse audiences.
• Manage document libraries and version control across multi-author projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
