Job summary

Deltek Talent Management is seeking a Technical Writer to support mission-critical software, systems engineering, and cyber initiatives. You will produce and maintain installation guides, user manuals, and training materials while coordinating across engineers and subject matter experts.

Ideal candidates bring TS/SCI with Poly, a Bachelor's in a technical or business field, and at least 6–10 years of experience in technical writing for DoD programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical OR Business-related discipline from an accredited college or university
• Target six (6) years of experience as a Technical Writer on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
• OR ten (10) years of experience as a Technical Writer on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity (substituting four (4) years of additional technical writing experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree)
• Requires TS/SCI w/Polygraph (Full Scope preferred) and 100% on-site work in Annapolis Junction/ Hanover, MD area

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, revise, and maintain technical documents including software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, and user documentation.
• Write and edit technical documentation for software, including installation, configuration and how-to documentation.
• Create code documentation for software; produce implementation guides and end-user guides for capabilities.
• Coordinate layout and design of documents and research technical information for broad audiences.
• Produce DoD acquisition documentation, user manuals, training manuals, and other end-user materials.
• Assist engineers and SMEs by producing high-quality documentation and training materials.
