Job summary

Saab West Lafayette is seeking a Technical Writer to support the rear section manufacturing for the T-7A Redhawk program. You’ll serve as the local SME, guide inspectors, and handle NCRs, FAIs, MRBs, while aligning with ISO quality standards.

You will help develop best practices for technical writing, report performance, and implement corrective actions to maintain high-quality output on schedule. This role emphasizes collaboration and Saab values across a global team.

Qualifications

• AS Degree in Quality, Technical Writing, or related STEM discipline or 3 years in a manufacturing quality role required.
• Previous technical writing experience in manufacturing or quality operation is required.
• Ability to interpret and revise documentation/work instructions for consistency and repetition.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the local SME for technical writing and provide guidance/training for inspectors across shifts.
• Report on writing performance and turnaround time to leadership.
• Identify common quality issues and establish corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
• Develop best practices for technical writing and maintain/update them as needed.
• Generate Nonconformance Reports, Inspection Plans/Control Plans, FAIs, and MRB dispositions.
• Develop knowledge of customer/industry quality requirements.
• Facilitate controls/solutions to deliver high-quality products on schedule.
• Be primary contact in non-conformance investigations and material assessments.
• Contribute to a people-first culture aligned with Saab values (Trust, Drive, Expertise, Support).
• Other projects and tasks as assigned.
