Job summary

Tekgence Inc. is seeking a Technical Writer II to develop and maintain end-user documentation for security products in a hybrid San Jose, CA setting.

Remote work is available for non-San Jose candidates as part of a long-term contract. You will collaborate with product, engineering, and support teams to create installation guides, release notes, and user content while ensuring accuracy and consistency across docs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience independently writing and owning security documentation for networking products (minimum 4 years preferred).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts (Ethernet, TCP/IP, VLANs, etc.).
  • Proficient in authoring tools such as Oxygen XML, Markdown, or similar.
  • Experience with project management and issue-tracking platforms like Atlassian Jira.
  • Experience working in cross-functional technical teams.
  • Experience with content management systems like Adobe Experience Manager or similar.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience transforming content to be AI-ready, enabling end users to find information quickly and easily, in line with the client's AI content strategy.

Job description

Job Title: Technical Writer II - Security Products

Location: San Jose, CA 95134 (top priority/preferred location); candidates based elsewhere in the U.S. are also welcome to apply and will work remotely

Work Setting: Hybrid, onsite 3 days per week for San Jose-based candidates; remote for candidates based in other locations

Engagement: Long-term contract
