Job summary

SIG SAUER, Inc in New Hampshire is seeking an entry-level Technical Writer I to develop technical documentation using approved templates and work instructions. The role requires collaboration with Engineering and Product Management teams and involves teamwork with other Technical Writers.

The position emphasizes planning, writing, editing, and creating images, diagrams, and charts to enhance user understanding while adhering to Safety and ISO procedures and contributing to continuous improvement

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• 2+ years of experience as a Technical Writer preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience using and maintaining firearms is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, write, and edit technical documentation per company work instructions for developing technical documents, as directed by the Manager, Technical Writing.
• Create images, drawings, diagrams, and charts that increase user understanding.
• Work with engineering groups and Product Managers on product and documentation requirements.
• Create weekly statuses for review and discussion during weekly team meetings. Work with Senior Technical Writer and adapt writing based on their feedback.
• Focus on assigned projects as directed. Organize and prioritize assigned tasks to meet completion deadlines.
• Analyze content provided by teams for documentation and apply proper style, structure, and tone.
• Review the content with the Sr. Technical Writer or Manager for understanding.
• Contribute to assigned Continuous Improvement projects and tasks.
• Communicate effectively to supervision regarding problems and corrective action.
• Must be able to travel
• Participate in 5s workplace organizational activities and maintain the area in good working order through sustainment activities.
• Must follow all required Safety and ISO procedures.
• Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
