Job summary

Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association, Inc. seeks a Technical Training Specialist to plan, develop, deliver, and evaluate operations and maintenance training for transmission and generation personnel.

You will coordinate apprentice assignments, assess progress, and support safety and environmental compliance. The role involves hands-on instruction for mobile equipment and requires extensive travel.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in electrical/electronics technology or related field.
• Five years of combined operations/maintenance and technical training experience.
• Ability to travel ~70% across the Tri-State system.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, deliver, and evaluate operations and maintenance training including classroom, field-based, and on-the-job instruction.
• Assess apprentice knowledge, skills, progress, and training needs; document performance and training completion.
• Coordinate with facility management to match work groups, assignments, schedules, and resources.
• Lead journey-level and apprentice technicians during training activities without formal supervisory authority.
• Provide hands-on instruction for mobile and material-handling equipment and promote proper use of tools and practices.
• Ensure training aligns with safety requirements and environmental regulations.
• Assist management with surveys, analyses, and identification of training needs.
• Maintain knowledge of industry methods and recommend improvements.
