Job summary

Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association, Inc. seeks a Technical Training Specialist to plan, deliver, and evaluate operations and maintenance training across Northern Colorado and other facilities.

You will coordinate classroom, field, and on-the-job instruction and advance apprentice competency while aligning programs with safety and environmental standards. The role requires hands-on instruction for equipment, collaboration with facility teams, and travel around 70% to support

Qualifications

• Associate degree in electrical or electronics technology or related field.
• Five years of experience in operations/maintenance and technical training.
• Ability to travel ~70%.
• Commercial driver’s license required for assigned duties.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops, delivers, and evaluates operations and maintenance training across multiple sites.
• Assesses apprentice knowledge, progress, and training needs; documents performance.
• Coordinates with facility management to assign work groups and resources for apprentice development.
• Directs journey-level and apprentice technicians during training activities without formal supervisory authority.
• Provides hands-on instruction for mobile and material-handling equipment and promotes proper work practices.
• Ensures training aligns with safety requirements and environmental regulations.
