Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Rochester, NY, seeks a Technical Training Specialist to develop, organize, and conduct training in a manufacturing setting, using lectures and hands-on exercises with approved materials.

The role covers designing instructional content, determining learning objectives, and coordinating with floor supervisors to keep programs current with upgrades. Strong communication and ITAR familiarity preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

Responsibilities

• Works with customers and functional organizations to establish training requirements.
• Performs analysis to determine master training lists, learning objectives, and course content.
• Designs and develops instructional material.
• Communicate with supervisors and managers from the floor to adjust training as needed.
• Provides technical training in a classroom environment.
• Updates existing instructional material to reflect manufacturing upgrades and capabilities.
• Conducts continuous improvement of course material to maintain quality and effectiveness.
• Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the training area, including the cleanliness and upkeep of training rooms.
• Perform administrative tasks including, but not limited to, course evaluations, project grading/posting, computer-based ordering of supplies/tools, and performance evaluations of students.
