The Virginia Department of Taxation’s Office of Technology is seeking a dynamic, experienced Technical Team Lead to drive innovation and transformation within our tax return processing systems. In this critical leadership role, you will guide technical strategy, modernize core applications, and ensure our systems evolve to meet the changing needs of Virginia taxpayers and the Commonwealth.
As the Technical Team Lead, you will work closely with business partners, technical teams, and subject matter experts to refine requirements, architect scalable solutions, and deliver high-quality enhancements. Your leadership will play a key role in modernizing one of our most complex and mission critical applications, directly impacting system performance, user experience, and long-term reliability.

The position is located at our Main Street Centre location in Richmond Virginia and has a hybrid schedule consisting of 3 days in the office (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and 2 days teleworking (Monday and Friday).
The salary range for this position is $125,000 - $140,000, commensurate with knowledge, skill and experience.
