Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Tax Manager to join our firm. This position offers a unique opportunity for career growth and advancement, with a clear path to partnership with our firm. The Manager is accountable for all phases of the client tax engagement, including budget, staff, planning, production, first level or final review, total work quality and profitability of the engagement. Managers act in a leadership role, setting an ethical, technical, quality and leadership example for direct reports and colleagues. The Manager is a CPA and is an integral part of the management team.

What you will do
  • Facilitate client engagement and manage the client relationship including billing and collecting.
  • Serve as point of contact for clients.
  • Sign tax returns.
  • Develop, train, and lead team members to greater levels of effectiveness and engagement by providing detailed review and analysis of their work while monitoring key employee performance metrics.
  • Schedule and manage the workload of team members (direct reports) to promote the most efficient and profitable operation.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning and direction of the Tax department.
  • Engage in business development opportunities with responsibility for firm growth of new clients and further developing services provided to existing clients.
  • Monitor legislative/regulatory tax law developments and updated tax practices that could affect the business climate.
  • Provide leadership in an area of focus and specialization including serving on a tax committee.
  • Complete special projects as assigned.
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required
  • CPA or Enrollment Agent (EA) certification with a minimum of 5 years of public accounting experience
  • Experience conceptualizing, developing, and monitoring the workflow for tax preparation
  • Strong working knowledge of tax law and other professional standards/regulations
  • Experience preparing and reviewing complex returns for S-Corporations, C-Corporations, LLCs, partnerships, high-wealth individuals, consolidated, or multi-state returns and nonprofits
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree preferred
  • Additional professional designations or certifications showing specialization in areas of taxation preferred
