Job description

Technical Switchboard Assembler I

Pay Rate: $20.00–$22.00 per hour

Location: Plymouth, MN

Schedule: 1st Shift, Monday‑Friday, 6:00 AM‑2:30 PM; overtime may be required during busy times.

Position Type: Temp to Hire

Responsibilities
  • Position, gather and arrange parts for proper assembly, verify fitness and tolerances.
  • Interpret instructions, designs and schematics to produce items to specifications.
  • Assemble and fabricate sheet metal parts and bus using equipment and tools.
  • Mount assembled components such as transformers, panel boards, capacitors, circuit breakers, switches and CTs in cabinets.
  • Operate machines that press, shape or bend component parts.
  • Notify supervisor to obtain additional resources or assistance.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment and adhere to safety regulations.
  • Document materials used.
  • Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently to accomplish job results.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Wear steel‑toe safety boots and provided safety glasses.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to work as a team player in a fast‑paced custom manufacturing environment.
  • Strong work ethic with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures of the Assembly department.
  • Follow instructions and pre‑established guidelines to perform job functions.
  • Effective use of hand and power tools to assemble customized units.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, engineering documentation and blueprints.
  • Strong mechanical and mathematical aptitude and the ability to pass a basic mathematics test.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs and stand for entire shift.

  • Vise‑grip/locking pliers
  • Small, medium and large slotted and Phillips screwdrivers
  • 10″ crescent/adjustable wrench
  • ¾″ wide × 12″ tape measure (minimum)
