Job summary

Award Staffing is seeking an Assembler for a Temp to Hire position in Minnetonka, MN. The shift is 1st: Mon-Thu 6AM-3PM and Fri 6AM-10AM; pay is $18-$19 per hour. You will assemble components, follow blueprints, and use hand tools while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, 1–2 years in assembly, basic computer skills, and the ability to lift up to 40 lbs. Medical device experience and strong English are a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent industrial experience preferred.
• 1–2 years’ experience in assembly preferred.
• 1–2 years’ experience in electrical assembly desired.
• Basic ability to use computer keyboard and mouse.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Standing for long durations of time.
• Use hands and fingers to operate hand tools.
• Medical device experience preferred.
• Strong English language speaking and reading skills required.

Responsibilities

• Cuts materials to specifications using blade, scissors, or electric knife.
• Folds or fits together materials for machine sewing preparation.
• Operates presses, fixtures, and sealing machines to assemble products.
• Prepares work by studying instructions and gathering parts, tools, and materials.
• Positions parts using templates or measurements.
• Assembles components and subassemblies; verifies fit.
• Assembles electrical components and tests functionality.
• Verifies specifications by measuring completed components.
• Collaborates with lead to resolve assembly problems.
• Maintains a safe, clean work environment and documents actions.
• Contributes to team results; handles material movement as needed.
• Assists with material picking and preparation for shipping.
• May ship products using ERP/shipping systems during busy periods.
• Performs repetitive tasks for extended periods.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Cuts materials, according to specifications, or cuts excess material or thread from finished product, using blade, scissors, or electric knife.
• Folds or fits together materials, such as cloth, foam rubber, plastic to prepare for machine sewing.
• Operates presses, assembly fixtures and sealing machines to cut and assemble products
• Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
• Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
• Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.
• Assembles electrical components and test for functionality
• Verifies specifications by measuring and/or test completed component.
• Works with lead/supervisor to resolves assembly problems.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
• Uses material handling equipment to move materials as needed
• Assists production workers in picking materials for work orders
• Picks and prepares finished products for shipment to assist shipping staff
• May be asked to ship product using ERP software and shipping system during busy times or when regular shipping staff is unavailable
• Performing repetitive tasks while sitting or standing for extended periods of time
