Job summary

Danfoss NAM DLS Intern role offers hands-on experience applying technical knowledge to create smarter tools, resources, and solutions that help customers and service teams resolve challenges quickly across North America.

You will gain exposure to variable frequency drives, control systems, troubleshooting, and repair operations, working alongside engineers and technical specialists dedicated to innovation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Associate's or bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• Electrical knowledge is preferred (Electrical focus encouraged).
• Ability to read electrical/control schematics and interpret technical data.

Responsibilities

• Develop and test customer self-service tools to improve support.
• Partner with support and repair teams to identify customer needs.
• Support development/optimization of control systems for NA repair facility.
• Gain hands-on exposure to VFDs, commissioning software, electrical systems, and control technologies.
• Collaborate to improve troubleshooting processes and documentation.

As our new NAM DLS Intern, you will help create smarter tools, resources, and solutions that make it easier for customers and service teams to resolve technical challenges quickly and effectively. Your work will directly contribute to a better support experience while helping shape future service and repair capabilities across North America.

This is a hands-on opportunity to apply your technical knowledge in a real-world environment. You will gain exposure to variable frequency drives, control systems, troubleshooting, and repair operations, while working alongside experienced engineers and technical specialists committed to innovation and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Develop and test customer self-service tools that improve the support experience and help customers resolve issues more quickly.
• Partner with technical support and repair teams to identify customer needs and transform service insights into practical troubleshooting solutions.
• Support the development and enhancement of control systems for the North American repair facility, helping strengthen future service and repair capabilities.
• Build hands-on experience with variable frequency drives, commissioning software, electrical systems, and control technologies used across a wide range of industries.
• Collaborate with engineers and technical specialists to improve troubleshooting processes, technical documentation, and support resources for customers and service teams.

What We're Looking For

• Currently pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering (electrical preferred), Electronics, or a related technical field.
• Basic knowledge of electrical test equipment, including digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, or similar tools.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and control schematics.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a proactive approach to learning and working collaboratively in a team environment.
