We are seeking qualified candidates to join our Research & Development Summer - Fall Co-op beginning in May 2027. This position will be based at our Wendell, North Carolina office location.

You'll make an impact by:

• Supporting research and development (R&D) projects for Low Voltage Motor Control Centers, including Variable Frequency Drive and Disconnect Switch units.
• Creating and updating 3D models of copper and sheet metal assemblies to support manufacturing operations.
• Developing part and assembly drawings and verifying design accuracy through visual comparisons and fit checks.
• Supporting prototype builds by preparing JT files and assisting with hand-on build activities.
• Completing assigned product support tasks related to non-conformances and identified design errors.

Basic Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Knowledge of 3D modeling tools.
• Candidates must be enrolled with the North Carolina State University co-op program.
• Ability to work on-site full-time (40 hours per week) during the Summer and Fall 2027 semesters.
• Eligible candidates must be located within 50 miles of Wendell, NC, as this role does not provide housing or relocation support.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with 3D modeling or drafting tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, NX).
• Exposure to Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing principles.
• Familiarity with low-voltage power distribution equipment.
• Experience supporting prototype builds or manufacturing environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to support a culture of quality.
• Willingness to learn tools, processes, and engineering methods.

The hourly pay range for this position is $25.00 per hour for first time Interns or $25.50 per hour for returning Interns. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location. Additionally, interns for Siemens are eligible to contribute into our 401K program.
