Job summary

The City of Springfield is hiring a Technical Support Specialist I to join the Office of Public Utilities, Information Systems Executive division. You will provide PC hardware and software support for the Public Utilities office, handling Help Desk duties and software installations.

Required Qualifications

Knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of two years of college with courses in computer science and one year experience with PC hardware and computer operating software, or any equivalent combination of related training and experience. A valid Class D driver’s license is also required. Must pass the required background investigation and sign the departmental confidentiality statement.

Preference for employment in all positions with the city shall be given to applicants who are full‑time city residents.

To be eligible to apply, current City employees must have completed their probationary period and attained certified status in their current position.
