Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Safety Engineering, Occupational Safety, or related field, or two years of related work experience, plus two years of safety training responsibilities and a valid driver's license.

The cost of accidents and injuries in lost productivity, medical expenses, and material replacement take away from the resources available to perform the City's primary missions. The Public Works Department strives to provide a safe working environment with all safety aids and protection necessary for personal safety. A successful candidate should possess a knowledge of safety management techniques, work-place safety hazards and safety principles. As a Safety Technician, you will assist the Department Safety Coordinator with implementing and maintaining a safety management system for the Public Works Department.
