Job summary

The University of Vermont is seeking a Technical Support Specialist to manage data for Banner and Slate within the Graduate and Undergraduate Admissions Offices. You will ensure data integrity, provide data to internal and external units, and oversee electronic loading of data into Banner and Slate while testing updates and web forms.

Additionally, you will coordinate and provide training to staff on the Banner SIS, and manage communications for students who defer admission.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree with 1–2 years of data management experience.
  • Effective interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with electronic calendars and e-mail; data entry skills.

Responsibilities

Position Details

Advertising/Posting Title Technical Support Specialist Posting Summary

Perform technical and data management support of the student information system (Banner) as it relates to the Graduate and Undergraduate Admissions Offices.

Provide oversight of data integrity; provision of data to both internal and external units; electronic loading of data into Slate and Banner database; and testing of Banner updates and web forms.

Coordinate and provide training to staff members in the Banner SIS.

Manage communications and applications for students who defer admission.

Minimum Qualifications (or Equivalent Combination Of Education And Experience)

Associate's degree with one to two years’ experience in data management, including relational databases, spreadsheets, file transfer protocol required. Effective interpersonal and organizational skills. Familiarity with the concepts of an electronic calendar and e-mail. Data entry skills required.

Desirable Qualifications

Knowledge of the Banner SIS is highly desirable. Familiarity with relational database highly desirable. College admissions experience is highly desirable

Anticipated Pay Range

$25/hour to $27/hour

Special Conditions

A probationary period may be required, This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule with an option to split time between campus and elsewhere, in accordance with the university telecommuting policy, Background Check required for this position FLSA Non-Exempt Union Position Yes, UVMSU
