Job summary

Applied Materials, Inc. in Santa Clara, CA is seeking a field technical support specialist responsible for customer escalations, fleet performance, and installs. You will act as the main liaison between the customer and division, supporting engineering sites and evaluating new hardware and software on customer tools.

Key duties include initiating ECOs, generating performance data, and preparing documentation for system upgrades. Travel is up to 25% as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for a specific customer, including escalations, fleet performance, installations, upgrades.
• Act as intermediary and field escalation focal point between customer and Division with technical support and documentation for field engineers, technicians and product support personnel.
• Provide Alpha Site support to Engineering for installation, operation, calibration, service and testing of new hardware, process or software on a tool.
• Provide Beta Site support for installation, operation, calibration, service and testing of new hardware, software or processes on a customer tool.
• Initiate and review ECOs to ensure data supports fixes and coordinate with the field.
• Generate and present system performance data (MTBF, MTBI, Availability) and related process data.
• Create and review documentation covering improvements, system upgrades, and support plans.
• Present results at customer level and ensure field implementation.
