Job summary

Eastman Chemical Company is seeking a qualified engineer/scientist to maintain a safe workspace and respond to technical product needs. The role focuses on glazing standards for laminated glass, DOE-driven experiments, and data-driven decision making.

The position supports Sales, Marketing, and Technical Service teams while coordinating testing, budgeting, and scheduling. Travel up to 20% is required; 1–3 years in a science field is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in scientific or engineering field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience in a laboratory environment highly preferred.
• 1-3 years of professional work experience in science related field.
• Strong proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint; DOE experience.
• Knowledge of glass or structural engineering analysis a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and contribute to an effective safety environment.
• Respond to technical product needs in a timely manner.
• Understand glazing standards and codes related to laminated glass.
• Develop experiments; run data analysis and communicate results.
• Support cross-functional teams in development and sale of interlayer products.
• Interpret design media and oversee equipment setup and maintenance.
• Develop testing procedures to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Translate technical requirements into testing plans and project specs.
• Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources; travel up to 20%.
