Job summary

Owens Corning is seeking a Glass Scientist to support safe, stable manufacturing by applying glass science to materials, formulations, and process improvements. You will partner with Operations, melting, controls, sourcing, vendors, and product teams to solve technical problems and qualify new materials, while strengthening supply and quality and ensuring health compliance.

In this role, you will collaborate across facilities to reduce cost, develop new formulations, and lead qualification

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Glass Science, Ceramic Science, Materials Science, or Geology.
1–2 years of experience in glass R&D, Operations, or process optimization.
Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
Experience creating visuals in PowerBI to analyze large datasets.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with Operations, melting and controls R&D groups to solve problems and improve process performance.
Work with production facilities, sourcing organizations, and vendors to reduce raw material cost and improve quality.
Create glass formulations for production facilities using available materials.
Develop solutions that improve production efficiency and reduce costs.
Lead specification and qualification of new glass materials.
Ensure environmental and product health compliance.
Collaborate with product teams to improve product quality.
