Job summary

Massachusetts Bay Community College is seeking an End User Services technician to join our team on a part-time, non-benefits basis. This role provides courteous, timely IT help desk support for students, faculty, and staff, including classroom, lab, and event support.

Shift hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM, on the Wellesley campus. Salary is $25 per hour with CORI clearance required for hire.

Qualifications

• Experience troubleshooting computers and audiovisual equipment.
• Experience in a multi-user environment supporting users at different levels.
• Proficiency with Windows 11, Chrome OS or Mac OS.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and resolve IT help desk tickets and incidents.
• Support computers and peripherals across multiple OS environments.
• Maintain and install software related to MassBay computing.
• Support college-wide audiovisual services in classrooms, meeting rooms, and auditorium.
• Provide routine computer, printer, and peripherals maintenance.
• Provide computer software and hardware orientation for students.
• Coordinate outside repairs as needed.
• Provide backup coverage for the College Copy Center.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Summary:

The ideal candidate will join a vibrant educational communityand have a desire and ability to serve a population of students with variousneeds and backgrounds. This is apart-time, non-unit position with no benefits. As a member of the End UserServices team, this individual provides technical hardware/software support forclient computers and other technologies within MassBay. This individualprovides courteous, timely, and effective assistance to students, faculty andstaff, including classroom, lab, and event support.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

• Monitor and resolve IT help desk ticket requests and incidents;
• Support computers and peripheral equipment using a variety of operating systems and applications;
• Maintain and install all software applications related to MassBay computing;
• Support College-wide and multi-campus audiovisual services in classrooms, meeting rooms, and auditorium;
• Provide routine computer, printer, and peripherals maintenance;
• Provide computer software and hardware orientation for students;
• Make necessary arrangements for outside repair as needed;
• Provide back up coverage for the College Copy Center;
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience troubleshooting computers and audiovisual equipment;
• Experience working in a multi-user environment supporting users at different levels;
• Previous operatingsystems experience using Windows 11, Chrome OS or Mac OS.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Sensitivity and commitment to the goals of Affinitive Action;
• Experience working in a community college or similar environment;
• Demonstrated commitment to working with students in need;
• Previous experiencemaintaining and trouble-shooting software applications and PC hardware;
• Demonstrated effective oral and writtencommunication skills;
• Ability to work as part of a team.
