  • Submit midterm and final grade reports, attendance records, early alerts, and other reports pertaining to assigned courses by required due dates;
  • Carry out other related duties as assigned by the Dean consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement;
  • This list is not to be considered all-inclusive. A supervisor may assign other duties as required to meet the needs and foster the mission of the College.

Located in Greater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open-access community college, offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses in Wellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.

Position Summary:

The ideal candidate will join a vibrant educational community, and have a desire and ability to serve a population of students with various needs and backgrounds. Faculty members are responsible for developing educational and evaluation materials consistent with the philosophy and framework of the program.

Massachusetts Bay Community College invites applications for an adjunct faculty position in Computer Science from qualified applicants. Responsibilities will include developing and teaching courses in areas of computer science. They will also demonstrate an ability to engage, mentor, and work with diverse student populations. They will be comfortable offering hands‑on laboratory courses by implementing active learning strategies using current computer technologies, software, and tools. The candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, collaboration and professional development.

Required Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or relevant field.
  • Candidate must have 18 graduate semester hours in computer science.
  • Experience or training in computer programming including languages such as Java, Python, Java Script, HTML, Robot C, and Visual C++.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A PhD in Computer Science or related field;
  • Sensitivity and commitment to the goals of Affir
  • Experience working in a community college or similar environment;
  • Demonstrated commitment to working with students in need;
  • Teaching experience in beginning and intermediate level computer networking;
  • Experience teaching online courses using tools like Cisco WebEx, ZOOM, Google Classroom, etc.
Additional Information:

Salary Range: $1,397 - $1,585 per credit
