Job summary

MTA Construction & Development is seeking a Technical Specialist 2 to support project lifecycle activities including planning, scheduling, analysis, design, technical specifications, and reporting.

Qualified candidates will have a BS in a technical field and at least five years of related experience, with proficiency in design software and strong communication skills. Telework is available one day per week, with travel to other locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in an appropriate technical discipline.
• Minimum five (5) years of related experience.
• Proficiency in current design and engineering software and Microsoft Office are required.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the design of various aspects of a project for MTA systems and infrastructure.
• Performs technical and feasibility studies, including analyzing historical data, surveys, reports, and as-builts to create innovative design projects.
• Reviews designs, performs/reviews tests and assessments of equipment, software, and materials, and functions/reviews technical calculations.
• Conducts site visits to obtain existing conditions and correctly identify project design and delivery risks.
• Provides technical field support for system/equipment installation and project construction.
• Embraces mentoring from senior staff and adheres to corporate quality control standards.
