Job summary

Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s Construction & Development division seeks a Senior Technical Specialist 2 to oversee lifecycle activities for capital projects in signals and train controls. You’ll lead planning, design, analysis, and reporting for complex systems, coordinating with multiple engineering disciplines and external partners.

The role requires a BS in a technical field, at least 10 years of related experience, and 4 years in a managerial or project leadership capacity.

Qualifications

Bachelor degree required in a technical discipline.
Minimum ten years of related experience.
Minimum four years in a managerial or project management role in a large organization with complex systems.
Knowledge of industry codes and standards.
Ability to coordinate with in-house engineering disciplines and other technical areas.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Designs/supervise project aspects for MTA systems and infrastructure.
Performs/ supervises technical and feasibility studies, analyzing data, surveys, and reports.
Provides expertise to resolve technical issues.
Recommends solutions for systems integration and interfaces.
Reviews designs, tests equipment, and computes technical calculations.
Conducts site visits to identify conditions and risks.
Plans and coordinates required project approvals and permits.
Provides field support for installation and construction.
Manages a small team of technical staff.
Mentors junior staff.
Adheres to quality control standards.
