Job summary

PPG is seeking a Technical Service Representative to represent us onsite at customer locations in Northern Wisconsin. You will support coatings operations, troubleshoot, and drive process improvements while learning powder, ecoat and pretreatment as needed.

You will report to the local Technical Service Manager and collaborate with the coatings team to meet customer specifications and safety standards. A valid driver's license and willingness to travel are required.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma, GED, or Equivalent.
  • 5+ years' experience in wet paint and Coatings, Electrostatic spray, or similar paint/coatings experience for industrial or manufacturing experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with paint mixing, paint application, or similar experience is ideal.
  • Good computer skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Troubleshooting, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well alone and within a team environment to solve ever changing challenges.
  • Willingness to travel to various customer locations.

Responsibilities

  • Support the ongoing activities on site at the customer production facilities as well as PPG activities at PPG facilities. Need to communicate logically to understand customer concerns, collect data, take appropriate actions, and resolve problems within a timely manner.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting to the customer and coatings team.
  • Effectively communicate with PPG Technical and Account management, direction of the PPG on site team activity, and promote EH&S.
  • Providing timely resolution to customer inquiries, application process monitoring, mix-room supervision, and hands-on support as needed; followed by a timely trip report for each customer visit.
  • Support sales to execute commercialization of new opportunities and product launches, process optimization, testing and troubleshooting, trial execution, and process improvement.
  • Follow safe work practices, with mechanical aptitude to be able to communicate intelligently and optimally with technical, production, and non-technical personnel to satisfy customer requirements.

Job description

As a Technical Service Representative, you will be representing PPG onsite at various customer locations ensuring the customer's satisfaction by providing outstanding customer service. This position will focus on but not be limited to multiple locations in the N orthern Wisconsin market.

You must be within a commutable distance to largest customer site near Tomahawk, WI.

Service includes troubleshooting, process improvements, focusing on quality to their specifications, and ensuring the continued growth of the business. The incumbent must be familiar with Liquid coatings, be self-directed, and support both the customer and PPG goals . This person will also be expected to learn powder, ecoat and pretreatment if hired for this position.

Specialized training provided to those who meet the qualifications of the role. You will report to the local Technical Service Manager.

Salary range: 75,000.00 - 110,000.00 USD Annual Base Salary The role will also include an annual bonus program.

Must possess a valid driver's license, maintain automobile insurance, have access to a personal vehicle that meets PPG's Fixed and Variable Rate (FAVR) program requirements, and successfully pass a motor vehicle record (MVR) review.
