PPG in Oak Creek, WI seeks a Quality Control Technician on 2nd shift to perform laboratory tests on in-process batches, raw materials, and finished products. The role supports quality control, process control, and product development while reporting to the Quality Supervisor.

The position includes training and benefits; candidates should have lab testing experience and basic math knowledge to verify specifications and maintain quality records in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ years of chemistry or lab testing experience.
• Basic knowledge of mathematics and scientific principles.
• Product inspection, testing and evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Verify formula and component specifications on batch tickets.
• Set up, adjust, calibrate, and operate laboratory equipment and instruments such as paint guns, viscometers, pH meters, spectrophotometer, and other equipment.
• Test samples of manufactured products to verify conformity to specifications.
• Record test results on batch tickets and in our computer operating system.
• Manage quality records and retains of production batches.
• Evaluate retains of production batches in response to quality complaints.
• Perform routine production quality checks to ensure finished products are filled and packaged according to specifications.
• Perform occasional quality audits of laboratory and production work instructions to ensure compliance to our Quality Policy.

Job description

As a Quality Control Technician (2nd Shift) you will perform laboratory tests to determine chemical and physical characteristics or composition of in-process batches, raw materials, and finished products for such purposes as quality control, process control, or product development.

You will be seated at PPG's Oak Creek, WI plant, and report to the Quality Supervisor.

• Test samples of manufactured products to verify conformity to specifications.
• Record test results on batch tickets and in our computer operating system.
• You will manage quality records and retains of production batches.
• Evaluate retains of production batches in response to quality complaints.
• Perform routine production quality checks to ensure finished products are filled and packaged according to specifications.
• You will perform occasional quality audits of laboratory and production work instructions to ensure compliance to our Quality Policy.
