Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a Technical Service Engineer III to deliver expert support for Cell Sorting and Spectral Flow Cytometry instruments. You will collaborate with researchers globally to optimize performance and analytics, using remote diagnostics and building strong cross‑functional partnerships.

The role emphasizes troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and hands‑on experience in multi‑user lab environments, including Flow Core facilities. Onsite US office locations are eligible.

Qualifications

• B.S. strongly preferred (or equivalent working experience 3+ years hands‑on experience with cell sorting instrumentation) or higher in science/engineering, or related field
• 3+ years of experience using, servicing, supporting, or troubleshooting Life Sciences instruments or comparable technologies.
• Hands‑on experience operating, supporting, maintaining, or troubleshooting cell sorting and spectral flow cytometry instrumentation.
• Experience in a Flow Core Facility, Shared Resource Laboratory, biotech company, clinical lab, CRO, or multi-user research environment is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert-level support for customers using Cell Sorting and Spectral Flow Cytometry technologies.
• Collaborate with researchers worldwide to optimize instrument performance and analytical outcomes.
• Utilize remote diagnostic tools and build strong relationships with field teams, R&D, and customers.
• Demonstrate strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis to resolve hardware, software, optics, and instrument issues.
