Technical Sales Representative - New York
We expect that you will develop and grow our automotive paint and ancillary paint products based on objectives established by your manager. You will be responsible for setting up and training collision repair shops and auto body suppliers/jobbers on features, benefits, and proper use of our products to develop customer accounts and optimize sales. Travel will be required to fulfill this role.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Visit jobbers and body-shop customers daily in your designated territory to demonstrate our Automotive Refinish products, aiming to maximize sales and end-user results.
- Assist in recruiting jobbers and body shops, adhering to protected trade areas and sales targets to maintain exclusivity.
- Train new customers on the correct use of refinish products, color tools, and related materials, including setup of mixing systems and color software.
- Provide courteous, expert technical advice and product knowledge promptly and effectively.
- Support customers with color matching and communicate support needs to the factory's color contact.
- Serve as the primary technical support for your territory, assisting in other regions as needed.
- Advise customers on product options, features, benefits, and technical data.
- Manage customer visits to optimize sales, including reporting and developing sales strategies with the team.
- Support recruitment efforts by demonstrating product features and benefits.
- Gather market intelligence and competitor activity to inform pricing and marketing strategies.
- Recommend new products based on market needs and assist in testing prior to launch.
- Maintain current knowledge of automotive refinish products and refine selling techniques.
- Follow up to ensure customer satisfaction and troubleshoot as necessary.
- Host professional product demonstrations and develop educational programs for customers.
- Share ideas for operational improvements and meet established objectives.
- Perform duties safely and fulfill all other assigned responsibilities.

Note: Compensation ranges from $95,000 to $105,000, including base, commissions, and car allowance. This is a remote position. Success is measured by sales performance and quality of technical support.
