Job summary

Actalent in Aurora, IL is seeking a Sales Engineer to interpret technical specifications and commercial requirements, prepare new equipment quotations, and support both external and internal sales, engineering, and operations teams.

The role emphasizes configuring and pricing highly engineered equipment, responding to inquiries, and delivering remote field support across aftermarket pump and equipment lines. A strong engineering background is essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
1-3 years experience in technical industrial sales/engineering.
Ability to quickly learn about pumps, motors, seals, controls and accessories.
Technical understanding of pump operation, performance and applications.
Experience interpreting specifications into a commercial offering.
Knowledge of contract review and negotiation skills.
Excellent technical writing skills.

Responsibilities

Prepare formal quotations that align with pricing strategies and offer optimal engineered solutions.
Act as a technical center of excellence for aftermarket pump and equipment product lines.
Make recommendations to product engineering teams for product design improvements.
Work cross-functionally between projects, pumps, and parts.
Manage multiple projects through quotation and technical clarification cycles.
